# Product Commercial

> This playbook describes the complete internal process for producing **Product Commercials (product videos)** at Oase Creative.

## Overview

This playbook describes the complete internal process for producing **Product Commercials (product videos)** at Oase Creative.
This service is executed in collaboration with external videographers, location scouts, and model agencies.
We standardly work with two videography partners:

* **Y. Genç** → for smaller productions (lower budget)
* **Boni Films** → for larger productions (higher budget)

## Step 1: Product Received + Intake Form

When the product arrives with us and the intake form appears in Slack:

### Check if the intake form contains:

* Product information
* Purpose of the video (website, social, advertisements, Amazon, etc.)
* Deadline
* Any style preferences
* Moodboards or example videos
* USP list of the product
* Any wishes for models
* Preferred location (studio or external location)

### Actions:

1. Project manager checks the form.
2. Product and intake are saved in Google Drive.
3. Slack update: product is received and ready for planning.

## Step 2: Choose Video Partner

Based on budget, assignment size, and complexity, the right partner is chosen:

### Option A — Small budget → **Y. Genç**

* Efficient
* Budget-friendly
* Fast turnaround
* Directly reachable in Slack

### Option B — Large budget → **Boni Films**

* Higher production level
* Possibility of larger crew
* Can bring light and audio
* Contact via:

### Actions:

* Forward intake to the chosen party
* Align availability
* Confirm costs and scope

## Step 3: Determine Crew

In consultation with video partner, we determine the required crew:

### Possible crew:

* Videographer
* Lighting person
* Audio engineer
* Assistant
* Director (optional, for larger sets)

### Note:

* **Boni Films** often arranges light/audio themselves.
* For assignments with Y. Genç, crew is booked externally as desired.

## Step 4: Develop Storyboard

The storyboard forms the blueprint of the commercial.

### Storyboard contains:

* Shotlist
* Camera angles
* USP visualization
* Product close-ups
* Scenario or storyline
* Any VO text
* Stylistic directions
* Lighting references
* Color references

### Workflow:

1. Project manager or internal designer creates storyboard
2. Videographer provides input
3. Storyboard is updated
4. Client approves storyboard

## Step 5: Arrange Location & Models

### Location

We rent locations via:

* **agoodplace.nl**

### Checklist:

* Available on recording day
* Match with storyboard
* Sufficient light
* Possibility to film without interference

### Models

Models are booked via:

* **Casterbee**

### Checklist:

* Match the target audience
* Contract/usage rights arranged
* Styling and make-up aligned
* Timely arrival on location

## Step 6: Plan Filming Day

### Actions:

* Set definitive date
* Create call sheet
* Times
* Contact persons
* Crew
* Scenes
* Props
* Confirm location
* Confirm models
* Prepare product + props

## Step 7: Execute Filming Day

### During the shoot:

* Set up light
* Camera test
* Complete shotlist
* Monitor continuity
* Record extra B-roll
* Give extra attention to USP images

### After the shoot:

* Make backup of footage
* Videographer takes material for editing

## Step 8: Editing by Videographer

The videographer (Y. Genç or Boni Films) handles:

### Editing includes:

* Shot selection
* Montage
* Color grading
* Motion graphics / text overlay
* Music
* VO integration
* Audio balance
* Export of first version

### File formats:

* MP4
* MOV (optional)
* Optimized MP4 for web

## Step 9: First Version to Client

Project manager sends first version to the client.

### Including:

* Video link / file
* Short explanation
* Revision instructions

### Revisions:

* Standard: **2 revision rounds**
* Extra = additional work

## Step 10: Process Revisions

### Process:

1. Client provides list with revisions
2. Project manager communicates these to videographer
3. New version is delivered back
4. Client approves → final export

## Step 11: Final Delivery

Project manager uploads final files to Drive:

### Folder structure:

/Footage
/Edits
/Revisions
/Final
```

### Delivery contains:

* Final MP4/MOV
* Social versions (1:1, 4:5, 9:16)
* Thumbnails
* Any source files

Client receives Drive link + explanation.

## Best Practices

* Ensure storyboard is extremely clear.
* Always film extra B-roll (safety material).
* Monitor consistency with product photography.
* Pay attention to reflections on glossy products.
* Keep all communication in Slack.
* Note all camera and lighting settings.
