Overview

This playbook describes the complete internal process for executing a Brand Discovery journey. The goal is to gain insight into the target audience, brand identity, visual direction, and strategic positioning of the client.

Step 1: Check the intake form

  • Check if the client has completely filled out the form.
  • Check if all required materials are present:
    • Existing branding (if available)
    • Target audience information
    • Competitors
    • Any wishes or moodboards
Important: Are data missing? Then first contact the client before proceeding.

Step 2: Contact the client

  • Always use your business …@oasecreative.nl email address.
  • Confirm the appointment (online or on location).
  • Send a short agenda of the session.

Step 3: Execute Discovery Session

  • Go through the brand analysis:
    • Target audience
    • Problem & solution
    • Brand personality
    • Tone of voice
    • Competition
  • Collect input for the visual direction:
    • Colors
    • Typography
    • Moodboards
    • Inspiration images

Step 4: Develop Stylescape

  • Open a new project in Photoshop or Figma.
  • Consider:
    • 3000×3000px artboards
    • Neatly organized layers
  • Build 1 or 2 stylescapes based on the Discovery input.

Step 5: Prepare Presentation

  • Export stylescapes under 10MB per image.
  • Add notes about:
    • Colors
    • Direction
    • Branding choices

Step 6: Present to Client

  • Discuss both directions.
  • Note revisions or preferences.
  • Update the team in Slack with the feedback.

Step 7: Deliver Brand Discovery Document

The final document contains:
  • Target audience description
  • Brand personality
  • Core values
  • Positioning
  • Stylescape(s)
  • Recommendations for branding

Best Practices

  • Maintain a consistent structure in files.
  • Communicate timely via Slack with the team.
  • Process client wishes accurately (for example, color preferences).
