Overview
This playbook describes the complete internal process for executing a Brand Discovery journey. The goal is to gain insight into the target audience, brand identity, visual direction, and strategic positioning of the client.
- Check if the client has completely filled out the form.
- Check if all required materials are present:
- Existing branding (if available)
- Target audience information
- Competitors
- Any wishes or moodboards
Important: Are data missing? Then first contact the client before proceeding.

- Confirm the appointment (online or on location).
- Send a short agenda of the session.
Step 3: Execute Discovery Session
- Go through the brand analysis:
- Target audience
- Problem & solution
- Brand personality
- Tone of voice
- Competition
- Collect input for the visual direction:
- Colors
- Typography
- Moodboards
- Inspiration images
Step 4: Develop Stylescape
- Open a new project in Photoshop or Figma.
- Consider:
- 3000×3000px artboards
- Neatly organized layers
- Build 1 or 2 stylescapes based on the Discovery input.
Step 5: Prepare Presentation
- Export stylescapes under 10MB per image.
- Add notes about:
- Colors
- Direction
- Branding choices
Step 6: Present to Client
- Discuss both directions.
- Note revisions or preferences.
- Update the team in Slack with the feedback.
Step 7: Deliver Brand Discovery Document
The final document contains:
- Target audience description
- Brand personality
- Core values
- Positioning
- Stylescape(s)
- Recommendations for branding
Best Practices
- Maintain a consistent structure in files.
- Communicate timely via Slack with the team.
- Process client wishes accurately (for example, color preferences).
